Theatrical Experience/Training: Paul Francis was a teacher and is now a freelance writer. He has written for teenagers and schools groups, and for many years was involved in amateur drama. He has had had three collections of plays for school pupils published, and his play “Witness” was published in “Scripts and Sketches” (Heinemann 2001). In 2000 “Legendary Lives” won the Best Overall Play award at the Drama Association of Wales Play-writing competition. In 2002 “Coke on the Rocks” was chosen by Grizedale Arts for their December production, following a national competition for a script based on an idea by Minerva Cuevas. Paul
Francis is currently working on one-act plays for amateur drama
festivals, ensemble pieces in realistic settings which deal with such
contemporary themes as privacy and the media, honest accountancy and
reactions to 9:11. He has also written three radio plays – “Fighting
Terror”, “Dancing for Picasso” and “Raising Standards.” Plays
